Frequently Asked Questions
1) Java is not installed on my computer
2) My Java version is not suitable
3) Unable to connect to RTFX servers:
1 - I'm connecting from home
2 - I'm connecting from the office
4) I have Macintosh computer.
5) I get one of the following error messages:
1 - Login failed: Could not connect to server
2 - Login failed: Login or password incorrect
3 - An error occured while launching
4 - or executing application.
6) I cannot resolve my problem.

3) RTFX servers Unable to connect to |

3)1- I'm connecting from home
|
|
- Check your Internet connection is up. Can you open a browser window, go to Google or Yahoo! and start a search?
If not, get a working Internet connection ???
- If you are behind a firewall or if you installed an anti-virus software, they could deny access to the software. Configure your firewall or anti-virus to allow outside connection on port 443.
- If you are connected through a proxy server which only allows HTTP data, you won't be able to connect. Ask your ISP for help in configuring the proxy.
- Make sure no P2P software is open. Some can generate unexpected disconnections.

| 3) 2- I'm connecting from the office |
|
The following configuration must be set up with your network administrator:
- If you are behind a firewall or if you installed an anti-virus software, they could deny access to the software. Configure your firewall or anti-virus to allow outside connection on port 443.
- If you are connected through a proxy server which only allows HTTP data, you won't be able to connect. Ask your administrator for help in configuring the proxy.
- If you are connected through a proxy server which only allows HTTP data, you won't be able to connect. Ask your ISP for help in configuring the proxy.
- If you cannot apply any of the above, try to connect from home.

| 4) I have Macintosh computer |
|
Our software runs on Mac OS X version 10.3.4 and above, or any version of Mac OS X 10.4. Java is part of those versions of Mac OS, and no additional software is necessary. Unfortunately there is no way to install an appropriate version of Java on prior Mac OS versions. |

5) I get one of the following error messages : |

5) 1- Login failed: Could not connect to server |
|
- Please check that you have a green led with the "Connection with our servers is ok" message. If you have red led, please go to the corresponding "Impossible to connect to our servers" section.

| 5) 2- Login failed: Login or password incorrect |
|
You probably mistyped your login or password. Common errors include:
- Login and password are case-sensitive:
Example: type demo01 instead of DEMO01
- Inverted login and password.
- Mixed similar characters like I(i major) et 1 (one).

| 5) 3- An error occured while launching or executing the application |
|
This kind of error can either come from Internet Explorer cache, or Webstart cache.
To empty Internet Explorer cache:
- Close all Internet Explorer windows
- Open a new Internet Explorer window
- Go to Tools Menu
- Internet Options
- General Tab
- Temporary Internet Files section -> Delete Files...
To empty WebStart cache :
- Close all Internet Explorer windows and Realtime Forex Trading Plateform
- Go to Start Menu -> run
- Type javaws and click on OK
- A new window is displayed:
- For Java version before 5.0
- Click on File -> Preferences
- Click on Advanced tab
- Click on Button "Clear Folder"
- For Java version after 5.0
- Click on Edition -> Preferences
- Click on General tab
- Click on Button Delete Files and click on Button ok.
